I still got a big pack of yellow flesh sweet potato. I need to find a way to consume this ingredient before it's too late, although they can last for a long period in the fridge. So I make again the bread dough with sweet potato, and stuffed the buns with meat floss and tuna chunks mix with mayonnaise.

Dual-colored Sweet Potato Roll
I bought two types of sweet potato: yellow and purple to make a sweet potato roll. But then I discovered that purple flesh is much creamier while the yellow one is quite rough and dry, although both of them known as sweet potato. That alerts me when I add in the liquid to the dough. It is not necessary the dough with yellow flesh will need the same amount of liquid as the dough with purple one. So it depends on the type of sweet potato you used. Thus the quantity of milk in this recipe is just a guide, please adjust the portion accordingly. Enjoy your sweet baking moment.

Boil Egg & Boil Chicken Sandwich
There are times I'm really out of idea what to have for my boy's lunch. He doesn't likes the noodle recently, that really crack my head. He gives me the answer "Don't know lah!!" when I ask him what he wants for his lunch everyday. I don't want to take the risk to cook something new for him, so I'll make something simple like sandwich or burger, and put some mayonnaise and cheese in it. He loves that every time i made.

Siew Pau (烧包)
Siew Pau (烧包) is a famous snack originated from Seremban. The golden crispy pastry filled with sweet and juicy BBQ pork (叉烧) makes it one of the everyone's favorite food.
Of course, you can have your own made siew pau for your loved ones over here. But one thing to remind, this recipe produce a much softer and flakier pastry then the ordinary Siew Pau. This most probably due to the high content of shortening in both shortcrust and flaky pastry dough. Wait no more, let's go...

Instant Mushroom Soup with Puff Pastry Cap & Instant Garlic Bread
There are many ways to have the nice creamy soup in puff pastry, as well as the garlic bread. You can choose the traditional way to prepare them from first step till the last by yourself, or the instant way like me. I used the instant mushroom soup and the ready-made buns for this recipe, but I added a little creativity on the pastry decorating.

BBQ Pork Belly (叉烧)
I wanted to try a home made BBQ pork (叉烧) long ago, but I'm not really interested if it is roast in oven. It usually will dry up the meat if lack of experience to handle it. Thus I found a simple recipe from web and most important part is no Oven needed. You just need a wok or pan. And this recipe will ensure the meat is tender and juicy.

Cinnamon-Coffee-Gula Melaka Roll
Cinnamon is a type of spice with strong fragrance. But not everybody can stand with it, like me and my family. Frankly speaking, I really dislike it due to its strong smell even you are far from it. But things change, and I'm changing too. This was happened when i made an apple pie for the first time ever. The apples taste and smell sweeter with the present of cinnamon, so i need to have my first try with the cinnamon. And this sweet experience had changed my mindset. Since then I'm kind of liking it.
This time I'm moving further with the spice, and accompany it with 2 new partners~coffee and gula melaka. The aroma is really nice to me. So maybe you can try this combination in your recipe one day.

Ra-men in Home-Made Teriyaki Sauce
Another simple Japanese cuisine to prepare at home. You can have any Japanese noodle like Udon/Ra-men, and flavor it with Teriyaki sauce which you can make it yourself too. Besides noodle, Teriyaki sauce is applicable in almost any dish like vegetable, seafood, meat, chicken and etc. It basically a combination of soy sauce, mirin (smells like rice wine and tastes sweet as stated in the source i found), sugar. But I've substituted the mirin with ginger wine (the only wine used in my kitchen) in mine version.

Mango Yogurt Ice-cream
Sometime is hard to get the kids to eat the fruit on its own. Example my son (ya, typical food-picker). So, I was wondering how to make him to like the fruit? Ice-cream? Ya, kids love ice-cream! But it's quite high calories and the fat too if I'm using creamer. What if yogurt? Yogurt ice-cream, healthier and contains lots of probiotics which is good to our health. So let's try this simple recipe.

Pizza Topping with Hawaiian Tuna & Bacon
Sometime i'm quite lazy to clean up the mess in the kitchen, especially on the stove. So I'll use the oven to cook for me. Just put in your dish and let the oven does the cooking, and the best part is smoke free and oil-spill free. Ok, then what is the best menu i can have for my boy? Pizza! He likes it (sometimes) and I can rely on the oven to bake it nicely. How about the topping? Aiya, anything will do, as long as there is cheeseeeeee......

Simple Deco Birthday Cake (Sponge cake based)
I am making my elder son and my bro-in-law's birthday cake, since their lunar calendar birthday is quite near to each. I know my sense of art is not really creative, thus cake garnishing part I'll try to make something simple (but not guarantee nice one lah!! you can see from the pic above....). Therefore, i have to make sure the cake tastes nice, in order to 'help' them to forgive me on such "Art Attack" deco.....

Pumpkin Fillling with Salted Egg Yolk Flaky Pastry (金瓜咸蛋黄酥/黄金酥)
Mid-autumn/ mooncake festival falls on 8 Sept 2014 this year. I'm not really addicted to the mooncakes selling in the market, there are too sweet for me. Thus i have another option: salted egg yolk flaky pastry. I choose to use the pumpkin filling instead of red bean/lotus. Add a light pandan flavor, it smells and tastes nice and unique which you won't find this in anywhere.

Omelette Roll by Sandwich Maker
I don't exactly know how to named this, but this is super simple and fun. I'm using the grill plate in 3-in-1 sandwich maker (grill/waffle/sandwich) to make this meal. And the best part is I don't have to clean up the stove at the end.

Grill Chicken
Sometime i feel headache when i want my big boy to eat anything i cooked, but i know it takes time to change. He quite picky too on the chicken. Thus i decided to make him a home grill chicken. Mmmm, it tastes fine to me even a bit burned at the outer skin, but my boy tried 1 small piece and refuse to take the second try. Well, at least a good start.

Korokke (可乐饼)
Korokke is a famous dish among the kids, and adults too. Korokke usually coated with golden brown outer skin, which really make the kids appetite for food. And one more thing, it is sure a good 'place' to stuff in something that your kids dislike. Therefore my korokke mix with chicken and french bean, which my big boy doesn't really like them.

Pumpkin Flaky Pastries (南瓜酥)
I've made the pumpkin paste, now I'm move on to make the flaky pastry. I'm not used to keep the salted eggs in my kitchen, so I can only produce purely pumpkin flaky pastry without the present of salted egg.
Pumpkin Paste (Filling)
There are assorted flavors for the salted egg flaky pastry's filling, like red bean, lotus, lotus in pandan. I want something unique, why don't i go for the pumpkin one since there is still a big chunk in my fridge? It is time to clean up the fridge now!!

Frittata (意式烘蛋)
When I was watching "Giada at Home" on Food Network channel yesterday, Giada shared us a recipe "Frittata". This is a great dish for those food-picker like my elder son. Just put in anything you like (I'm putting vegetable definitely!!) and they are "hidden" in the egg mixture...
My son said to me "Mummy, i wanna try this! They look nice!!" Ok, I'm on today for the requested recipe.

Steam bun (包 Bao in chinese) is a Chinese cuisine you can found in any dim sum restaurant, or the stall selling newspaper besides the street. Steam bun can be served with stuffed filling like meat, vegetable, red bean/lotus paste etc. But there are also without any filling which I'm going to share in this recipe.

Berries Cheese Tarts
Cheese tart is not something new to us, but you must be surprised if i admit that i never taste a cheese tart before. Well, that's because I'm preferred the cheese in savoury instead of sweet. Anyway, it doesn't matter now, coz I'm going to have my very first cheese tart here!! And I'm sure I'm going to love it!!
