Bread Pudding

 

I got some leftover white toasts in the kitchen. Thus I'm using them to make a simple bread pudding for my son.

Ingredients

  • toast    吐司
  • milk    牛奶
  • egg    
  • butter/margarine    牛油或黃油
  • custard sugar    砂糖
  • grinded coconut palm/gula melaka    磨碎椰糖    
  • vanilla extract    香草精
  • raisins    葡萄干

  Steps 

  1. Spread some butter/margarine on the toast, then cut into cubes.   吐司模上一層牛油/黃油,切方块。
  2. Bake the toast cubes at 150°C for 10 minutes.    吐司块以150°C烘10分钟。
  3. Mix the milk, sugar and vanilla extract into saucepan over low heat. Stir till the sugar dissolved and off the heat. Sit aside to cold down a bit.     奶、砂糖、香草精倒入锅里用小火煮,一直搅拌直到糖完全溶化,熄火放凉。
  4. Add the egg and whisk thoroughly.    加进蛋打匀。
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased baking bowl. Soak the toast cubes into the mixture (the side with butter/margarine facing up) for 5 minutes.    把蛋奶液倒入已涂了油的烤碗里,吐司块泡入蛋奶液(抹牛油/黄油那面向上)5分钟。
  6. Sprinkle the coconut palm and raisins on top. Bake at 150°C for 20 minutes.   撒上椰糖和葡萄干以150°C烘20分钟。
