Purple Sweet Potato & Beetroot Bread (Bread Maker)



A romantic purple in the kitchen..... And I add sharper color~beetroot extract to enhance the moist and the flavor too. 

Ingredients

Sweet Potato Dough

  • 250g of high-protein flour    250 克高筋面粉
  • 200g of purple sweet potato puree    200 克紫蕃薯泥
  • 30g of custard sugar    30 克 幼糖
  • 1 egg (slightly beaten)    1 个蛋 (稍微打散)
  • 30g of butter/margarine    30 克牛油/黄油
  • 1/2 tea spoon of instant yeast    1/2 茶匙速溶酵母
  • a bit of salt    少许盐
  • 60ml of milk    60 毫升牛奶

Beetroot Dough

  • 50g of high-protein flour    50 克高筋面粉
  • 30g of beetroot puree    30 克甜菜根泥
  • 5g of custard sugar    5 克 幼糖
  • 5g of butter    5 克牛油
  • 1/4 tea spoon of instant yeast    1/4 茶匙速溶酵母
  • a bit of salt    少许盐

Steps 

  1. Place the ingredients (except beetroot puree) from Beetroot dough into a mixing bowl. Add the beetroot puree bit by bit and knead into a smooth dough by hand (around 10-15 minutes). Stop adding the beetroot puree if the dough is moist enough. Set the dough aside.    将beetroot dough的材料(甜菜根泥除外)置入碗中。边把甜菜根泥逐次少量加进边把材料揉成光滑面团(约10-15分钟)。如面团湿润度足够就停止加甜菜根泥。揉好的面团置一边备用。
  2. Place the sweet potato puree, egg, sugar, salt, milk into the bread pan, then follow by flour, butter and yeast on most top. To avoid the yeast been 'killed' by the salt,  make sure they are separated by a layer of flour.    紫蕃薯泥、蛋、糖、盐、奶倒入烤盘里, 接着放粉,最表面放牛油和酵母。盐和酵母之间用粉隔开以免酵母直接接触盐而失效。
  3. Choose the 'sweet' mode, 'light' color for the crust, '1.5lb' for the loaf size.     选‘sweet'程式, 面包上色  ‘light’,面包重量‘1.5lb' 
  4. Press 'Start/Stop' button. The machine starts. When the maker starts to proofing, make a well in the center of the sweet potato dough. Place the beetroot dough in the well and cover up with sweet potato dough.     按’Start/Stop'钮让面包机启动。当面包机开始发酵程式,在蕃薯面团中间挖个洞。把甜菜根面团埋在里面,然后把蕃薯面团盖回去。
  5. Let the maker finish up its works.    让面包机继续操作完毕。
  6. Remove the bread pan from the machine.     烤盘取出。
  7. Use non-stick spatula to gently loosen the sides of the loaf from pan.    用不沾质料的刮刀弄松面包四周。
  8. Turn bread pan up-side down and shake gently until the loaf gets out from the pan.    烤盘倒转轻轻摇至面包脱离。
  9. Leave the loaf to cold and slice to serve.    面包放凉后切片享用。
