Happy Longevity Noodle (长寿面)


Chinese used to have the longevity noodle during birthday celebration to symbolize a long happy life. Is non of my family member's birthday today, but wanna have a first try on this noodle in my kitchen.

Ingredients

  • carrot   胡萝卜
  • napa cabbage/chinese cabbage     黄芽白/大白菜
  • cauliflower    包菜花
  • chives    韭菜
  • ginger    
  • garlic    
  • bunashimeji    灵芝菇
  • longevity noodle    长寿面
  • egg    鸡蛋
  • cornflour    玉米粉
  • sesame oil    麻油
  • pepper    胡椒
  • light soy sauce    酱油
  • salt    
  • plain water    清水

Steps 

  1. Cut the ingredients into desire size.    把材料切成喜欢的大小。
  2. Boil a pot of water. Pour in the noodle and cook to tender. Drain the nooodle.    面条用开水煮软隔水
  3. Saute the garlic and ginger. Then add the vegetables and stir fry.    爆香蒜和姜,然后加入其余蔬菜兜 允。
  4. Place the noodle in and stir well. Pour in the cornflour mixture (cornflour mix well with the plain water).    加入面条拌匀,打芡(玉米粉加水混合)。
  5. Add the egg and stir evenly.    加蛋拌允。
  6. Season with salt, light soy sauce, pepper and sesame oil.    以盐、酱油、胡椒和麻油调味。
