Checkerboard Cake (Sponge Cake Based)


I'm making a checkerboard birthday cake for my January BB~my hubby. This cake really take a lot of effort to cut and decorate. The result looks ok but the cake a bit dry. I think I'll have another try later.

Temaki Sushi



Multi-grain rice or mixed grain rice (五壳米) are high in nutrition and fiber. Basically they are combination of few grains, rices and seeds. The one I bought inclusive brown rice, millet, barley, buckwheat and sun flower seed. I believe different brand or company would have different combination, but still having the same value of nutrition.
I'm using multi-grain rice instead of sushi rice for my temaki. I then add some vege and egg into it, dip with a little sushi/sashimi soy sauce. Nice and much healthier.

Okonomiyaki with Vege & Chicken



Okonomiyaki is a Japanese pancake contained various ingredient. I found that most Okonomiyaki consists cabbage as their main ingredient, and some will put seafood or meat or anything you like. Okonomiyaki used the specific ingredients such as Okonomiyaki flour, Okonomiyaki sauce, seaweed flakes and a lots more. But I made my own simplest version~  Okonomiyaki with vegetable chicken. Gnocchi (without potato)





I found a cute and simple pasta to make at home~Gnocchi. It doesn't need the pasta maker or any other sophisticated tool to be used. All you need is a fork to make the shape.
The regular Gnocchi used potato as one of the main ingredient, but not mine. Easy ha?
